Two Driver Education courses will be offered this summer at Wiregrass Ranch High School. The courses will span through 10 days. The dates are from June 28th to July 9th and July 19th to July 30th at Wiregrass Ranch High School. The courses will provide approximately 30 hours of classroom instruction and the remaining time will be hands-on driving experience and practice. These courses do not provide high school credit but a certificate of completion will be awarded when the class is successfully passed.
We require that the student has a ride available every day for drop-off and pick-up from school. The cost of the course is $175. Please make the check out to James Irvin Education Center. The class times will vary each day as the course includes class time and driving skills scheduled at various hours of the day. In addition, the course has the following requirements:
- Student must have a learners permit.
- Student must have access to a ride to and from Wiregrass Ranch for the above-mentioned schedule.
These are great courses for anyone trying to improve his or her driving skills in preparation for the road test. There is limited space available for these courses. It will be first come; first serve as we expect these classes to fill up quickly.
To register, please stop in our student services center with your payment and speak with Ms. DeSimone. She will properly register your child for the course.
First two days and the last day we will be in a classroom (room 4-139). Please bring a writing utensil and a notebook.
The remainder of the days your child will be scheduled an hour of driving. The hours available to choose from will vary each day but they will range from 8 am – 1 pm. On the first day of class, your child will select driving hours to attend. If there are any complications, please have them tell me on the second day and we will try to make the necessary adjustments.
